Committee Proclamation
Circular 12 contains the Information Privacy Principles that regulate
the way South Australian Public Sector agencies collect, use, store
and disclose personal information. This is a Cabinet Instruction,
first issued in 1989. The most recent update includes the handling
of personal information under contracted service delivery. Terms of
Reference for the Privacy Committee of South Australia can be found
in the proclamation establishing the Committee that is attached to
the Circular.

PC015 Procedures for submissions seeking the review of Public Works
by the Public Works Committee (March 2008 revision)
DPC Circular 15 dealing with the referral of public works to the Public
Works Committee has been amended slightly to clarify that the Department
of Treasury and Finance, the Crown Solicitor and the Sustainability
and Climate Change Office must be consulted in relation to matters referred
directly by Ministers to the Committee (in addition to those going through
Cabinet first) and the consequent assurances and advices with respect
to legal, financial, procedural and sustainability issues must be given
in the reports on these matters sent to directly to the Committee

the Ten Year Rule (October 2009)

NOTE: Circular 31 contains the policy
entitled Freedom of Information Release of Cabinet documents
under the Ten Year Rule. This policy provides that a Cabinet
document can be considered for release through the FOI process if
10 years have passed since the end of the calendar year in which
it came into existence, rather than the twenty years currently provided
in the Freedom of Information Act 1991. The Department
of the Premier and Cabinet is assigned as the agency to deal with
all FOI applications under the Ten Year Rule.
