Lobbyist Code of Conduct and Register
The South Australian Government has established
a Lobbyist Register and introduced a Lobbyist Code of Conduct effective
from 1 December 2009.
Subject to limited exceptions, under the new arrangements
persons, companies or organisations who conduct lobbying activities
with the South Australian Government on behalf of a third party client
must be registered on the Lobbyist Register and comply with the Lobbyist
Code of Conduct.
This web site provides more information about
the Code, the processes involved in becoming registered and provides
access to the public information that is available in the register.
The Code also applies to government representatives
including Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, ministerial staff,
and persons working in public sector agencies, requiring that they
not knowingly and intentionally be a party to lobbying by a lobbyist
who is not registered on the Lobbyist Register.
